This is one of the oldest hotel and casino in Vegas. Had to take this picture and compared it with one of those in Edward's album. Boy there is a huge difference. First the Golden Nugget signage seems smaller. Second it is now part of Fremont Street pedestrian walkway and mall. In between a few tacky souvenir shops that sells the typical souvenirs. The waving cowboy neon sign was there too. But somehow, the light seemed dimmer. And the huge neon, graphical and loud music ceiling kaleidscope. Wonder how much mega watts of electricity is used in this city daily. After speaking with Ken, my guide for the Grand Canyon, i now begin to understand why Vegas is so dusty. No doubt it is the desert, but then when 40% of its energy comes from coal supplies, how else can it not get worse? The Hoover Dam does not supply all of its electricity needs, despite popular beliefs.
