Y countdown?

have you ever thought why we do a countdown to the New Year? funny isn't it. we are taught to count up for our numbers, etc yet when it comes to the most significant time in each year, we do a countdown. also the lack of Happy New Year songs. almost everyone sings the Auld Lang Syne, Scottish number, which is also played when everyone says their final goodbye at funerals. so if you think about it, for the person who has recently lost someone they loved, and are now trying to get on with a new life, and this song comes on..you will be caught in a yo yo of emotions. definitely not a good feeling to have. we chinese, nah,. we make it easy. no countdown. just a lot of songs celebrating new spring, beginnings, happiness, good health and not to mention the most important, good fortune and good luck. all lyrics combined with good dosage of drums and cymbals which when combined is very successful at alleviating whatever down spirits you may be having.
