This world is indeed very small

This person whom i have not seen in years somehow got to know a mutual friend and i have heard his name being mentioned numerous times and never thought it was the same person that i knew. and then voila, we met on New Year's Eve. Sad, though, this person avoided my gaze, avoided being introduced, despite sitting at the next table and became a total stranger. The saying, the more you avoid, the more it will happen, Because i saw him again on New Year's Day and the moment he saw me, he shifted his eyes. Why? I have absolutely no guilt at all and i want so very much to shake his hand and said hello, how have you been? But since he was so intent on avoiding, i thought i should spare him the embarassment. This world is really very small indeed. Methinks it is also a message that tells me that i should live life to the fullest, that there is very little time for regrets. Coincidental to have this encounter happen on New Year's Eve and the next day.
