Colmar
The total population in Colmar is only 12,000, the rest of the place is occupied by the veteran cemetery and parcels of funeral homes and other cemeteries for the Orthodox Christians, etc. Incl a pet cemetery.
And here sits some shops in a retail parcel which incl Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, a bridal shop, hardware shops, etc. Nordstrom Rack is amazing. Where else can you get real designer clothes at seriously discounted prices. Today they had a sale of 70% of the couture brand names which incl Mischa, Jill Sander, Prada, Armani, etc taken off the couture salons in downtown Nordstrom and else where. And after that, rack upon racks of other clothes. And they do some advertising too, incl putting on signs that said just off the trucks, so you know those are pretty new in season clothes. Then the queue to try on clothes, limited to 10. So if you have a trolley with you, you leave it outside and they give you a plastic notice so everyone knows that it is a "customer occupied" in use trolley so no one will rummage through your selections. When its time to queue to pay, the cashiers..they wave this yellow flag at you to let you know you are next to be served so you can quickly come up and pay just in case, you miss them. Very good service for an outlet type shop.
Didnt go Marshalls as i was there already yesterday. Gave the Bed & Bath and Old Navy shops a miss. Decided to check out Barnes & Noble instead since we don't have that bookstore back home. Bought some magazines and sat to enjoy a cuppa with a granny smith apple purse baked from Cheescake Factory. I missed that when i was in downtown a couple of days ago. Cheescake Factory as the name suggests serves divine cheesecakes plus other pastries. So this was the time i cld indulge which was good becos shopping is tiring and hungry business.
