On my own
Decided to hit downtown today after staying at home yest and completing the laundry and watching 2 DVDs in an afternoon. Got a lift from Richard to the Bart station at Daly City and was told to get off at Powell right after Civic Centre. On the way, Richard pointed out the small park which a Mexican guy did some statutes next to a baseball court. Quaint. And cherry blossom trees are starting to bloom. So lucky, my favorite. Got off at Powell and then realised i was in the Westfield Centre. Decided to have a cuppa and croissant as i was hungry. Then called Melody and got some bearing becos i wasn't sure whether i understood Richard correctly. Great stuff Melody, to go and check out Nordstrom again. Acted the typical tourist and took some shots. This store is huge and is the anchor tenant for the San Francisco shopping Centre located next to Westfield and interconnected. Better still, i get to ride on the curved escalator, the first of its kind built in 1991 or 1992 whereabouts. Then got across the street to Gap and Forever 21 again. Forever 21 is a chain opened by a Korean woman. Took some pictures of the cable cars and then realised that it actually takes a few guys to turn the cable car around the track. Wanted to buy a souvenir ticket, end of the cable car ride wld have been Fishermen's Wharf and didn't want to do that since that was pretty much at the far far end. The guy selling the ticket told me to take a walk instead of wasting the money on the cable car ticket as Macy was just 2 blocks up from where i was talking to him. Such a sweet man. In KL, they probably cldn't care less if you want to waste your money or not. Stopped by T Mobile to top up my airtime..boy its expensive. USD25 for 130 minutes and it got used up pretty fast. Then slowly went up hill. Must remember that the best exercise in the States is San Francisco since it is built on so many hills. Up and down all the time, even downtown. On the way stopped by H & M flagship store and looked at those special T's that the designers have come up with to increase awareness of AIDS. Then got the obligatory souvenir key chains and T's again. Next stop was lunch becos by that time, i was very hungry. Ordered crabmeat fried rice in honor of a person who has since moved on to the next world since that was his favorite. Then did Macy in 30 min after checking the clearance shoes items and hopped over Levis, tried some jeans and then to Saks Fifth Avenue where i got a Valentine Day gift for Edna. Then a quick stop at Neiman Marcus..nickname by locals, needless markup, wow, talk abt couture salons. This has got the world leading brands. All 3 floors of it. Even children's floor is so branded. Can't even afford to buy anything. Decided to walk back to Westfield to wait for my ride home and then stopped by AX..nothing again. Passed by the Apple store, which was crowded. Got pickedup by Melody and headed off to Filmore where individual boutiques are located. We decided to have a drink and nibble at Bittersweet. Such heavenly chocolate drinks. Off we went again for boots hunting as she wanted a pair so badly. Well after blowing a major amount on 2 pairs of boots, we stopped by at Marc Jacobs where i got some souvenirs. I wanted to buy some special Ts that was designed in support of one of the medical university and then realised it was too graphic. Will not be allowed to walk on street in KL without being arrested or harrassed. Aiyah, what to do, got to give it a miss. Then headed to Kee's house at Crystal Springs for dinner. Am so tired. My feet is hurting. How am i going to walk the Strip when i get to Vegas this weekend?
