Driving adventure to Gilroy

3rd Aunty & 4th Aunty took me to Gilroy yesterday. Gilroy is famous for its Garlic Festival and factory outlets. The day misadventure started when after turning into Westborough, we missed the Highway 280 turn which wld have taken us onto 101 Higway to reach Gilroy. We had to turn back at El Camino and then found another turning. First a stop at San Jose. It took a while for us to reach San Jose as the traffic was unusually bad despite it being over 10am in the morning. There was an accident and that backed up the traffic pretty bad. We went to have brunch at the little Vietnamese food/retail center, Lion City. Its like a step into little Vietnam, minus the endless honking noise. We ordered a variety of foods, incl the Vietnamese rojak, noodles and some dessert. Very authentic taste, even better than those served in KL. After a satisfying meal, we headed to Gilroy, exited at Leavesley and hit the first section of four of the many outlets. Its like aim and shoot and since we arrived abt 1pm, i had to do the shopping for those brands i was looking for, without browsing those in between. We went to Applebee for a late lunch, ordered 2 yummy salads and entree which was the lunch combo and then another half serving of riblets. Got lectured and a slap on the wrist by both Aunties when i tried to pay. The after that, headed to the 2nd section. The biggest mistake was assuming that the shops wld close by 6pm, in fact on weekdays, it closes at 9pm. The next time i come, i will definitely stay at the Motel located within the outlets and take my time shopping. We left about7pm after filling on gas and within an hour we reach San Francisco. Unfortunately 3rd Aunty took the wrong exit to drop off 4th Aunty and we had to navigate again out onto the 280 Highway and take another exit. It sure was cold and foggy by the time we reached 4th Aunty's house at Ocean. I hit the sack early and slept soundly. Shopping is really tiring business.
