2 hours experience at St Ignatius, 22nd Feb
The 2 hours seemed like forever, on one hand trying to focus on the event and the still bad feeling that i may not get on the flight. Poor Edna, had to go in and out to speak on the cell phone trying to make arrangements. And then she was asked not to return to the Chapel as the service had started and her going in and out meant a disruption and disrespect. Sorry Justin, i had to do this to you. I have never attended a Jesuit service, though in essence most services are quite similiar except for the way the prayers are said. If it was not for my frame of mind, i probably would have given more attention to it. I must say the Brother had a good sense of humour, something i didnt think possible when he started to deliver his sermon. Interesting too was his offer of blessings for the Girls Team and their equipments. I also liked very much the idea that each team member had to stand up and introduce herself/himself, his parent/s who attended the event. Instilling the sense of comradie and team spirit. Definitely a very different way in which our school and sports team are organized here. I believe that it was intended that i should attend this event and service. Definitely God was smiling on me and we managed to pull off to get a seat plus at no cost. Fervent wishes and prayers do help in times of need. Nothing beats the power of prayer. Whether you are a Believer or not.
