Foodie experience continued

Since we are on the subject of food, why not continue. This is not a restaurant in San Francisco or Vegas. Its the Montego Bay restaurant in Mandela Square Johannesburg. On my first trip, i sampled the delectable seafood platter..the day's catch which consisted of fish, squid and langoustines..a type of shrimp...long slim body, very sweet. I have not been able to eat langoustines in other restaurants in other countries since then. I thought i may get lucky on this trip and asked Edna and she said no, they don't have it. Not even the crawfish which they have in the States in abundance comes close to the langoustines taste i have tried. I have been very lucky and had another indulgence of this on my 2nd trip to Joburg. Till to this day, i can only imagine the langostine taste again and dream of the day when i get to eat it again. Apparently the best seafood served in Johannesburg comes not from Cape Town but from Mozambique. Surprise eh? The definition of langoustine..its a cross between a shrimp and a crawfish. They swim and travel in very deep waters, up to 380 meters. When cooked, they turn bright orange. This picture doesn't do it justice. If you are lucky to see it on a menu, order and try.
