Forget the calories load

The base of the box is white, with round markings, in mauve to brown colors and wordings in white, small but forcing you to look at it again. The power of language in describing what you are about to taste and enjoy. a total of 9 words used ..from crush, exotic, indulge to lust. Some of the descriptions i don't agree on, but who am i to say, since i am not the owner who approved it. How can you use alluring or exotic or lust for a box of....... Guess it yet? Bet you haven't though the heading of this post indic something. Its DOUGHNUTS, or Donuts as spelled on the box. We have indeed butchered the english language quite thoroughly by shortening even spelling on food! Did you know shortening is also used to mean "fat"for baking or cooking? I decided to get a box of it when i stopped by at Mid Valley today to collect the Beauty & The Beast Musical tickets. Ya, that took some "navigating"to find where the office is. And since i have not been to Mid Valley for a long long time, i discovered that there is indeed a basement level connection between The Gardens and Mid Valley. I decided to go down the escalator from The Gardens just to find my bearing, and like a child on a new discovery found that it was occupied by a supermarket plus what i like ..food and drinks outlets. So i took a stroll and then passed the Big Apple Donut shop. Was my sweet tooth (which i don't often have the indulgence for) stopping me on my tracks? Not really, i have tried them before so it was not for want of ëxperimenting". Just that i remembered that Fairuz said he has never tried these donuts and Sher Wye who wanted to bring some home a few sundays ago when we went out. So its with the thoughts of these 2 persons that i decided to buy the donuts (ok,. i got lazy, don't want to spell the correct english way). So i passsed the shop, making a promise to buy before i leave the building. Walked further and then realised i hit the escalator end where San Francisco coffee is located and you head up the escalator to Nike, MNG, etc. See, what those guys in Singapore used to say about me. Just ask me directions of any shops or shopping malls in any country or city i have been and i will be able to give pretty accurate directions. What to do, a shopping lover plus i always like to have a sense of bearing wherever i go. Back to the donuts. At the start of the queue line was a poster of the donut flavors available, that was a change from the donut shop i used to go at Curve, which you had to queue, go and select from the flavors (ya, ya, full english spelling is flavour) description next to the trays which sort of held up the line plus some people, go up and down when they realised they have not selected all that they want. Good idea. So i started and picked all the new flavors they have plus some of the previous ones i have liked. I wanted durian, just for Fairuz and Anthony to try out and was told i must eat it within 3 hours. Good customer service, that stopped me from picking it. Except durian, all the rest of the flavors can keep for 3 days. How many did i buy? A dozen. Why so many? Well, other than buying for the guys and Sher Wye, i need to give myself a pat on the shoulder lah. Since i have been kind of feeling down in the doldrums. I have already eaten 2 since i came home, selected 4 for Sher Wye (hope she likes my selections) and the rest for breakfast tomorrow in the office. Zoe, eat your heart out..if we happen to be in the same office, you sure will get treated. Next time lah, when you come home. Anyway for your sake, here are some pics for the time being. By the time you come back, new flavors again. Maybe another "brand"may come up. J Co is another donut shop, though i must tell you i personally don't like it becos it is a bit too sweet for my taste. I have a customer who is so crazy for it, he gets somebody to ta pau from Jakarta (where J Co is from) everytime she comes over. So if you think i have gone donut crazy, there are some worse off than me. Hmm, when you bite into its soft donut dough and chew it with the rest of the flavors, boy or boy, so so heavenly to indulge once in a blue moon. I have so much sugar now in my body, tomorrow i will be on a super drive in the office. Poor guys in the office..heheh. Only remembered it has some Korean significance, why, don't know why since the Korean food culture is more on hearty stews, bbq, strong and sometimes spicy flavors. i shall call it rolled in double peanut. Peanut butter Drenched in chocolate, like some "crater"discovery from cyberspace (well, don't remember the exact flavor description, only remember the pic next to it) White & Black combo/Cheesy & Oreo Choco Cream ( oops, hope i didnt get this wrong)
