Well spent sunday
Managed to sleep pretty good the night before as i was tired out. That was badly needed because i cld then be able to function better and do the things i want to do. Got up at 7.30am (hahah, this is even better than crawling out of bed for work) and went to Geary to have breakkie. Yummy hot beef porridge served with mee hoon, a typical Hong Konger brekkie. Then went to San Bruno Northern Thailand Cultural Centre where there is also a Thai temple and a bazaar held every sunday. Presented a set of monk robes, prostrated, repeated the mantra after the monk and got blessed. Feeling invigorated, we went outside to have some brunch. Delicious papaya salad, noodles, desserts. Absbolutely stuffed, how can it not be when it was like an hour and half after the breakkie? Off we went to Hayes Street to the Buddhist temple, made light offerings and met some new friends. Since we were already downtown, we headed to Westfield Centre, across from the Metreon. Westfield Centre not only houses Bloomingdale, but lots of other shops, incl the downtown San Francisco University campus. Bought quite a lot of goodies, then crossed the street to Gap store, where next door there was some outdoor artistic gathering. Cldn't get any where near to find out more as i was dwarfed by everyone else. Rested with a cuppa and some Papa Beard. Couple of hours later, went over to bie nien with Vietnamese couple, got served the most delicious, tender cheong fun/steamed rice noodles. Ate again, made small talk. Then headed to my friend's brother house at Daly City where we were going to have steamboat dinner. Humans are definitely a social species becos whatever food, even the simplest of meals that has been served at social gatherings becomes that much more delicious when shared with old and new friends. Then watched the video taping of the party and the grammy awards with more food - tong sui. Tina Turner is a real real hot lady. I hope when i get to her age, i can still look as hot as her, dance and have fun like her with those fabulous up there spikey heels. Boy, her vocals still pack a lot of power. Dancing next to Beyonce, who is less than half her age, wow. Tina Turner is sure one helluva a lady. Got home, and then had one of those long chats you have with a friend whom you have not seen for 5 years. Good friends are so hard to come by..even though you may not have seen each other for years, its like you have never left and it just continues. Warms the heart.
